Senior Full-Stack Developer

About the company
Our client is a Netherlands-based SaaS company working in the risk management and compliance space. They provide a well-established platform and are now expanding their product offering following a recent strategic investment.

What’s happening (the project)

The company is entering a major product expansion phase. This includes:

• Partially rewriting the existing platform (moving away from a low-code solution)

• Building new backend services

• Extending the current frontend, not replacing it

You’ll join a team that works closely with an existing local group that already owns product knowledge, business logic, and project direction.

What you’ll do:

• Take part in the gradual rewrite and extension of the current product

• Build new backend microservices and contribute to the overall system architecture

• Extend the Angular frontend to support new features, data flows, and integrations

• Work with a high level of ownership and autonomy

• Collaborate with:

  • Senior technical lead

  • Mid-level developer

  • Functional designer (acting as Product Owner)

  • Future Product and UX team members

• Focus on fast, pragmatic delivery (target: functional version by January, then iteration and optimization)

What the client is looking for

Must-have skills:

• Strong experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript

• Solid Angular experience (you’ll be working on and extending an existing frontend)

• Strong backend experience with Node.js, ideally building microservices

• Experience working on:

  • Existing products (not only greenfield)

  • Partial rewrites and system extensions

  • Integrations within established architectures

• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make technical decisions

• Good communication skills in English

👉 This is a full-stack role, but with a stronger focus on backend development

👉 You’ll be part of a dedicated team setup (not a single contractor working in isolation)

👉 Location: EU-based candidates only

Nice to have:

• Experience with NestJS or similar frameworks

• Background in SaaS product development

• Experience migrating from low-code platforms to standard engineering stacks

• Exposure to risk, compliance, or regulated domains

• Proactive, open communication style

What success looks like:

• Delivering a working product increment quickly

• Making smart technical trade-offs to balance speed and quality
